Bye Bye Blogger…Hello Word Press

Blogger has some changes up their sleeve that will be taking  place next month, and they will no longer allow you to FTP host your blog. This lags, especially if you are using your blog to develop content for your website. The funny thing was reading what the guys at Blogger were using as the reasons for for this change. They will still allow you to host your website through them, but again, this doesn’t do much for those using a blog to develop rich content for their site. I have been a  loyal customer using blogger for over 7  years now, it was nice relationship, but it had to end. I have no hard feelings towards blogger, however I must say that so far, wordpress is awesome. This is what the guys at Wordpress say about their service:

A Little History

WordPress was born out of a desire for an elegant, well-architectured personal publishing system built on PHP and MySQL and licensed under the GPL. It is the official successor of b2/cafelog. WordPress is fresh software, but its roots and development go back to 2001. It is a mature and stable product. We hope by focusing on user experience and web standards we can create a tool different from anything else out there.

WordPress is a state-of-the-art publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. WordPress started as just a blogging systems, but has evolved to be used as full content management system and so much more through the thousands of plugins, widgets, and themes, WordPress is limited only by your imagination.

Wordpress uses CMS (Content Management System) allowing users the ability to not only design a great blog, but a great website as well. With an easy to use Dashboard the user has easy access to the back end of their website, so they can easily manage content and images. This also allows users to change the look and feel of their site without loosing any of the important content.
